You could show students a video explaining a recipe, highlight key vocabulary and then they could write their own recipe to share in small groups or pairs. Another option is to record them explaining a recipe and upload the video or audio on class blog, wiki, Moodle or Facebook page to share. This gives them an opportunity to assess their language and speaking skills. If they have a mobile device recording is easy to do and upload.

Searching and reading recipes on apps such as taste, ABC Foodi and Epicurious also consolidates the language of recipes.
